So that’s how it goes right? 10 years in business and then you go into business burnout!
Truth is at the end of 2019 I started working for Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health service as their graphic designer. It’s been such a great job to transition back into the corporate life. I really found it hard managing marketing, sales, designs and bookwork while doing the single mum gig. Two years on I am still working for SCHHS and I now do limited amount of design work that I can handle and really feel called to do. It’s a much nicer space to be in and I have really been enjoying the projects over that time.
In Septemer 2021, I went to Double Island Point and captured this little precious jelly… Cute right. Below are some more projects that have been created this year in Graphic Design Sunshine Coast.

A few months back before Christmas we did a soulful essence photography session for local Sunshine Coast Yoga Expert Emily Spurling, she is a game changer in her industry having a long list of skills under her belt. She runs world wide retreats and partners with many well known wellness programs, companies and tv subscriptions.
Here is a snippet of the of the photography session and the amazing photos we captured infused with the divine energy that moved through the session. I honestly had so much fun capturing her in her element and allowing her space to shine. It’s such an honour to be able to work with all the incredible women that I work with. ❤️💜💛
Emily Spurling of Karma Being is a Yoga and Mindfulness Teacher and Certified Holistic Health Coach who facilitates health and yoga retreats around the World. Recognised as an expert in her field, Emily has garnered much acclaim from her viewership on www.fmtv.com where she appears alongside other industry leaders including Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer and Dr Bruce Lipton to name a few.
With a decade of teaching experience under her belt Emily is also an eternal student of yoga globally with formal training in Hatha and Vinyasa flow. She has beautifully combined these styles to create her own much loved yoga experience. This ‘fusion’ style is the perfect blend of light and shade, one flow will have you generating heat and building lean muscle and in the next you will be blissing out in a slow, opening restorative sequence. Recently she has birthed her own take on the merging of Yoga and High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) for Yogis who want to take their fitness and physique to the next level. Emily’s style continues to evolve in unison with the ever changing landscape of her life. “Yoga has soothed my body after days snowboarding and surfing, nurtured me through the late stages of pregnancy and early days of motherhood and most recently helped me to be stronger than ever both physically and mentally.”
Emily is drawn to yoga and meditation as a way to become fully present and ‘show up’ as the best version of herself in all areas of life. “We are all expected to wear so many different ‘hats’ every day, as a mother of two beautiful children, a wife, entrepreneur and teacher, to name a few, it can be really confusing and challenging to stay grounded, positive and on my path. If we are not living in the moment then we’re not showing up, Yoga and meditation are my secret weapon and it is my pleasure to share this gift with you.”
In a day as a graphic designer and photographer, I work with many different file types from JPGs to Illustrator files. Because I spend most of my days engrossed in a world of graphics, drawings, photos and different applications, I often forget that all of these different types of file formats can be quite overwhelming and confusing for some of my clients who have little to no computer skills or experience.
Unless you are a graphic designer, chances are you’ve never needed to understand things like what the difference between a TIF from a PDF or a PSD is. While the large variety of file formats may seem overwhelming, there is a method to the many forms! Here is a link download the sheet where it explains it all for you!
I have such a wonderful life, so blessed being able to capture my dear friend and yes I say friend as Mitlé Southey had been an acquaintance, then a client and now a friend and it seems I’m even luckier as most of my dear clients have become my close friends and some even start to feel like family.
This is a photography session I captured back in September, I really strive to capture my clients in their soulful essence and I feel this was just how it was for Mitlé Southey thank you for letting me capture you in your inner light and essence. These photos were taken on Coolum Beach on the Sunshine Coast. \\
I also transformed Mitlé’s website from one of lacking direction and flow and we added graphics onto the images to create a brand and ease that ooses her personality and vibe. I can’t wait to show you what we have created, it will be released very soon.
I just love the way the sun kisses the sand and the mirror that the ocean creates all these synchronicities create the perfect environment for a photography session!
Here are some slides we created for the website… sneak peek!
It’s in the Centre of Victorian Countryside with it’s frosty mornings and clean crisp air that’s a far stretch from the Sunshine Coast weather that I am used to. However the saying goes home is where the heart is. You see I have my little family here in the Sunshine Coast which is definitely where my main love, heart and soul lives. However having family over 2000kms away makes that place also feel like home.
In June I went on my annual holiday to Victoria to see my family, little did I know this was one of the last times I would spend with my beloved Pa my grandfather. Who was more than a grandfather he was my father when there was no other there for me. We were mates, best of mates. You know those rare people you just understand, you don’t even need to talk just being there and you get each other! Well he was definitely one of those to me and I know I was the same to him.
A story that goes around my family of when I was five years old, living in a Milk Bar my grandparents owned I used to get an ice-cream everyday well almost… It was a cornetto/drumstick! The very best, perks of living in your own Milk Bar. Anyway I went to ask my mother for an Ice-Cream – She said no. I went to my Nan – she said what did your mother say? Well no then. And lastly, crying off I went to Pa. As he scooped me up in his arms what’s the matter darling, I want an ICE CREAM! Which one lets go pick one out! This was us it was me and you against the world. Its actually 4 weeks to the day today that my world came to halt and I had that phone call that you’re no longer in your physical body. My spirits okay but my humaness has it’s moments where I can’t cope. We were so lucky to have been able to spend a few days with you. Fun family time, I know you enjoyed this day as much as everyone else. This ones for you Robin, my hero who now has wings!
Here is one of the very first photos I took, and below is the last photo of you and it happened to have me in it with you! A memory I will cherish forever. Until we meet again my friend.
Moments that last a lifetime.
So now to cheer us all up here are the residence of my Aunty’s farm the Goats! Some great personalities these girls have!
Big MUMMA!
Don’t take for granted those around you, you might not have as long as you think you do with them! Much love to you!
